Environmental Health provides program implementation in all environmental health disciplines. The environmental health staff apply planning, inspection, enforcement, and public education skills in the regulation of food establishments, sewage disposal facilities, water systems, well construction, swimming pools, and recreational health facilities, occupied housing, underground storage tank facilities, solid waste facilities, land use development, rabies and vector control, and the management of hazardous waste/materials. Hazardous Materials Business Plan Requirements
Hazardous Materials Business Plans (HMBPs) are required for all businesses handling hazardous materials in reportable quantities of 55 gallons (liquids), 500 lbs. (solids) and/or 200 cu. ft. (compressed gases); hazardous waste (in any quantity); and/or underground or aboveground storage tanks. HMBPs shall be submitted initially within 60 days of starting business or within 30 days of significant changes in any part of the HMBP. An Annual Renewal Certification (see instructions for all forms required) is due by March 1 of each calendar year thereafter.
