Personal Emergency Backpack Many people have asked us, "What can I do to prepare for a disastrous event". There are many resources out there that can help, many of which are listed here under Family Preparedness. The good thing about preparing for a biological disaster, is the same as preparing for any other disaster: Make a Plan, Make a Kit, and Stay Informed. Recently, we came across a great idea of making personal preparedness backpacks. Here at the Mono County Health Department, we thought this was a great idea because it will keep your hands free, and the entire family can help carry supplies should the need arise. Even small children can carry their own clothing in the even of a disaster where you would need to get out of the area. Below is a list of thing that people can keep in a personal emergency backpack. Please keep in mind, it does not make a difference what method that you use it prepare, as long as you do.
Remember, you need to make sure that your batteries, food, water, medications, and everything else, should be checked at least every six (6) months to make sure that everything is up to date. |
