Foster Care Nurse (HCPCFC)
The Health Care Program for Children in Foster Care (HCPCFC) provides medical case management services for children who are dependents of Mono County either through Child Welfare Services or Probation. Mono County Health Department’s Foster Care Nurse works with Social Workers, Probation Officers, medical providers, substitute care providers and biological parents to ensure and coordinate each child’s health needs until the child returns to the family or is emancipated at age 18. Coordinated services include routine medical and dental exams, referrals, treatment, medications, emergency services, and mental health services.
