Maternal, Child & Adolescent Health (MCAH)

The Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Division supports the vision of the Center for Family Health by implementing strategies to improve health; support the development of children and adolescents; and foster health, well-being and equity across the reproductive life course. 

Local funding for this program comes from the federal Title V Maternal & Child Health (MCH) Services Block Grant. The grant involves partnership on the federal, state, and local level, and allows flexibility for local counties to address the unique needs of their MCAH populations.

Every five years the MCAH program is required to complete a community needs assessment, reviewing the health and wellness of women, children, and families residing in Mono County.  As part of this assessment, community input was gathered via the Mono County Health Survey to help guide future work and improve the health of local residents.

The following needs were identified from the 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA):​

  • SUBSTANCE USE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT
  • BEHAVIORAL HEALTH ACCESS, PREVENTION, AND TREATMENT
  • CLINICAL CARE ACCESS AND PREVENTATIVE CARE
  • DENTAL CARE ACCESS AND PREVENTATIVE CARE
